Based in a rural village in Malawi, YEWO creates timeless, gold-plated jewelry, powered purely with solar energy. 100% of the gold is traceable, conflict-free, and from recycled sources. In addition, with every purchase, YEWO is planting a tree.
In Malawi, many families are poor and cannot send their children to school due to a lack of jobs.YEWO was launched in 2018 to develop a training workshop and create jobs where people could learn to make beautiful jewelry and earn a fair wage.
The only obstacle—none of them knew how to make jewelry.
Today, Yewo provides a 6-12 month paid, in-house training in metal-smithing, lapidary stone cutting/setting, jewelry fabrication, gold-plating, and manufacturing management.
